Despite being a Pittsburgh native, sometimes I feel like a new season brings so many new discoveries of this city that I grew up knowing. And Christmas tends to be a fun time to experience a new place as long as you steer clear of those crazy shoppers! As much as it’s fun to hit the sales, I’m more of an introvert so I don’t tend to love crowds.
My favorite Christmas activity is ice skating. And there are a couple of ice rinks in the area; I just wish the rivers would freeze some day so we could ice skate on them. That would be neat!
One of my favorite buildings in Pittsburgh is the Cathedral of Learning. Not only can you go to the top of this building and admire a view of Pittsburgh, you can also explore the Nationality Rooms. These rooms highlight different countries from around the world; students have classes in these rooms, too! And for Christmas, they are decorated according to their cultures! For tour information, check out this site.
And I also discovered this top 10 Holiday list of things to do in Pittsburgh. It just might become my list of things to do this December!
