Today’s the day. It’s the day I’ve been afraid to dream of for over 8 years. Being a book author always started with the sentence of “wouldn’t it be cool if…?”
I never thought it would happen. And yet, here we are.
For some reason, I believed that when Teal Paisley Tights released that I’d have my life together. You know? Funny thing, I’m just as normally odd as usual. I mean, I guess you saw that coming, but I definitely didn’t.
Release Day: Teal Paisley Tights by Barbara Brutt
Since Thanksgiving is in a week, I think it’s wonderfully appropriate that I write this gratefully-tuned.
This book journey has been a confusing one–where I have often felt like I’ve been playing the childhood game of Blind Man’s Bluff. Hands out, eyes shut, feet stumbling.
And despite the confusion and sometimes-loneliness, because yes it’s been lonely sometimes, I’ve been blown over by the many people who have come alongside me. So many of you! Many of you probably won’t read these words, but expect a hug attack (okay, so I’m not much of a hugger but I’ll give you a mental hug).
This Quote Sums it up.
Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art… It has no survival value; rather it is one of those things that give value to survival. – C. S. Lewis
I’m so glad friendship exists in this world because I know my life is so much richer because of these friendships, whether we’ve haven’t spoken in ages or we just chatted a minute ago. I honestly believe that Teal Paisley Tights wouldn’t exist in a published format if it weren’t for you (yes, you).
This has been a bit of a ramble. I don’t really know what debut authors are supposed to say on their release day post for their very first novel. But you know, I’m just excited that today…this novel that I’ve worked on for the last 8 years can be placed into your hands.
I’m excited to share quirky Jadyn’s story. And I hope you enjoy her messy, chaotic life. She’s quite lovable if I do say so myself!
About Teal Paisley Tights
After graduation, Jadyn Simon expected to launch her art career. Instead, this Pittsburgh native finds herself locked into a low-paying marketing position with an impossible boss.
Evicted from her apartment because of a small spending problem, she is forced to move in with her know-it-all sister. While everyone else plans a neat, buttoned-up life for her, Jadyn longs to paint professionally. Stretched like canvas between responsibility and dreams, she must choose.
Will practicality always win?
